Removing carpet

Before we bought our house, it had shag carpet over all the hardwood floors (ewww) and most of it was removed before we bought it, but a few rooms and closets had other carpet put inside them. We've decided to remove the carpet from these places. I believe we have hardwood floors beneath most of these, and even if it's planks, we prefer that over wall to wall carpeting.

I've removed the carpet from 2 closets so far.

A before shot

Under the carpet and carpet pad was a sheet of flimsy plywood which was screwed in many places to the floor boards underneath... thankfully the screw holes were not very noticeable nor did they cause any problems for the floor. I also removed the lower rack from the closet wall as it was always in a bad spot and cumbersome to have in that spot.

Aaaand after! A little dusty but really nice boards none the less!  And unsanded too! Unfortunately the other hardwood floors that were uncarpeted got sanded... but these weren't!

And another closet downstairs this time that had the carpet removed!
